We’re Recruiting for a Full Time Gardener
40 hours – Permanent Contract
We are a multi award winning Retirement village set in the beautiful parkland and Gardens of the Middleton Hall estate. Middleton Hall Retirement Village is an Employee Owned Organisation, Investors in People Platinum level and a Living Wage Employer.
Currently, we are looking to recruit a full time Gardener to join our Estates Team on a permanent basis, working 40 hours per week, with flexibility towards weekends and overtime.
Typical duties will include; planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs & herbaceous plants, ground cover, bedding, glasshouse work, animal husbandry, hedge cutting, strimming, pruning and mowing. You will also assist volunteers and lead or support residents in horticultural based workshops and wildlife activities.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable subject knowledge in this area and previous experience of working in a similar role. We require a passionate and enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills as you will regularly engage with our residents, their families and all Co-owners.
A Pesticide PA1/PA6 Certificate would be desirable, along with experience of using/operating associated gardening equipment and/or machinery such as tractors, chainsaws and ride-on and pedestrian mowers. Hard landscaping skills such as paving and fencing would also be of benefit.
