Middleton Woods’ resident, Clem Wheeler was the lucky prize winner of the cake designed and decorated by Debby Lamont, Head of Quality and Care. The cake was made for the Waterside Open Weekend and the Macmillan World’s Largest Coffee Morning. Clem was delighted with his win particularly as he was having visitors for tea that same afternoon. However, Clem very kindly shared his winning prize with staff, residents and their families. Delicious. The money raised from the raffle was donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, raising £525.00 in total. An extra special thank you goes to Debby Lamont and Faith Spence in the Kitchen for making and decorating such a beautiful fruit cake.
Mr & Mrs Gordon Smith from Richmond were the lucky winners of the Waterside prize draw for a luxury hamper and meal for two in the Restaurant. They were both delighted with their prize and collected it at the weekend. Mr & Mrs Smith attended the Open Event in September to view the new Waterside bungalows, the UK’s first zero carbon retirement development. All visitors were automatically entered into the free prize draw. The first resident moved into the Waterside on the 11th October 2013.
