Middleton Hall Retirement Village has won the award as North East Care Employer of the Year.  The award was presented at the annual Awards Gala in Newcastle, attended by over 300 people from the care sector.

The Great British Care Awards is supported by the Department of Health, The Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, Social Care Institute for Excellence, Skills for Care, Ceretas and the English Community Care Association and celebrate excellence throughout social care, including statutory, independent and voluntary organisations.

In making the award, the judges commented “The very real desire to become the best retirement village impressed the judges. The culture of the organisation of working together at all levels is a real strength for Middleton Hall. They gave really positive examples of Innovation and Excellence”.

Jeremy Walford, Managing Director of Middleton Hall, added “I am delighted that we have been recognised in this way.  Our staff are by far our most important asset and are the key to the success of the retirement village.  This is a reflection of our position as a leader in the care industry – congratulations to all the team and who have contributed to this major recognition of our achievements.”

The Awards Dinner was attended by members of twelve members of Middleton Hall’s team who enjoyed a spectacular evening. The gala award evening started in style with a champagne reception, followed by a superb gourmet dinner and the awards presentation with Keith Chegwin.  Singing Waiters also surprised guests with their operatic renditions including Nessum Dorma.
