TIMG_2658he Christmas season brings everyone together and highlights all that we enjoy about living and working at Middleton Hall.

Just as in any other community, it is important that residents have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas in their traditional way as well as enjoying some new activities. All areas of Middleton Hall were beautifully decorated by staff and residents to create a warm, homely environment. This provided a suitably festive setting for the many events, from culinary lunches and dinners to our Christmas Fair, the fundraising Elf Day and the annual carol concert performed by the local Brownie group. The Village choir, formed a few months ago, added a special little something to the proceedings.

112 (800x533)Christmas provides inspiration for additional ‘Living Well’ activities. This year residents were supported in craft activities both favourite and new, including Christmas card designing, wreath making (using materials from our grounds) and cake decorating.

Each of the Middleton Grove, Middleton Court, Middleton Gardens and Family Living ‘services’ hosted their own Christmas parties for residents and families. All enjoyed an excellent Christmas lunch and entertainment was planned for each that reflected the interests of different groups of guests. Each party was a joyous occasion, a story told by the many photographs.

The catering teams, not too busy to get in the mood and don Christmas hats and Elf boots, treated us all to some wonderful Christmas Fayre. This year the Festive Afternoon Tea proved very popular throughout December. The big seasonal days were celebrated in style by a lovely mix of residents and their friends and families who, in jovial mood, created a fantastic atmosphere.

So … back to the New Year. We are looking forward to the completion of the redeveloped Spa facilities and in the meantime are getting back to the pool and the gym with the aim of easing ourselves into 2016 without the excesses of the past few weeks. It promises to be an active year. The addition of the recently built Sporting Pavilion will enhance the pleasure we take in playing and spectating our outdoor sports. Happy New Year!
