Middleton Grove – 10th Anniversary Celebration

Middleton Hall Retirement Village has just celebrated 10 years of its innovative Assisted Living Suites.  First opened in 2000, the service has been a great success for the retirement village.

Middleton Grove filled a gap in the market between retirement properties with only a warden on site and residential care homes and as such was the first in the north east of England.

Two of the original residents still live in the assisted living suites – Mrs Jean Owen and Dr John Laws.  Dr Laws was interviewed on BBC Look North when the new service was launched in 2000.

In August, a party to mark the first 10 years was held with Dr Laws and Mrs Owen cutting a cake to celebrate.
