As part of National ‘Go Green’ week, Middleton Hall Retirement Village held a Swap Shop for residents and staff to come and swap their unwanted items for something new.

Items swapped ranged from books to scarves, chutney to notelets. Residents were left very happy with their new ‘purchases’ and it was great to see so many items going to a good home.

Mary Henderson, Middleton Grove resident, commented “I thought the Swap Shop was excellent. Everyone enjoyed it, chatting to other residents, appreciating the refreshments. I enjoyed my swap – a lovely box of my favourite fruit jellies for a soap gift set I had. I hope it will be repeated in the future.”

Middleton Hall prides itself on promoting sustainability as one of their values and the Swap Shop reflected this as it was a great way of recycling.
