Managing Director of Middleton Hall, Jeremy Walford recently took to the stage at one of the most important eco building conferences in the UK. Green Build Expo 2013 staged in Manchester is the UK’s must go to event for the construction industry covering everything from training opportunities and renewable technologies to sustainable materials and legislations updates.
Jeremy was invited to speak to other industry professionals, about the background, strategy and building of the UK’s first zero carbon retirement properties, the Waterside. The Waterside will consist of 35 high specification two bedroom carbon neutral bungalows for over 55s with the options of garages and dormer rooms, set in a newly landscaped part of the retirement village.
The Waterside development will include a large pond, wetland area and village green surrounded by a new area of parkland.
Listened to by a room of industry specialists, Jeremy spoke of the experience of developing the Waterside – implementing a simple, uncomplicated energy strategy for low maintenance properties and low running costs making them particularly attractive to older people.
The properties also benefit from being free of stamp duty, on first purchase, under the government scheme to encourage zero carbon homes.
The Waterside will open for viewings at the end of July. If you would like more information please do call Caroline Soullier on 01325 332207 or complete the enquiry form and we will keep you updated and invite you to a pre-exclusive viewing.
