MH12E – Carer Nights x 2 Permanent Positions 31.5 hours per week

This rewarding and critical role is key to the ongoing well-being of our residents – you make the difference.   The role is varied but the main focus is to ensure that every resident is supported in the way that they choose as detailed in their support/care plans.  The role involves delivering the highest standards of support at night that may include bathing, dressing, nutrition, mobility and living well promoting independence and ensuring engagement at every opportunity.  You will be responsible for your own night care plans on an ongoing basis including monthly reviews and relevant document changes.

 You will need to enjoy working with older people, be a caring and patient individual, trustworthy and reliable, a team player and have a good sense of humor and the ability to make each resident feel special. We are also looking for someone with good problem solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a good telephone manner and the ability to empathise with residents, families and outside professionals.

No previous care experience is necessary as we will provide all the training you would need.  Experience in safe handling of medications would be desirable and having a full driving license, however these are not essential.

Successful candidates will take part in a 6 day induction programme when joining the company.  If you have no specific care qualifications when you join, you will be expected to study for the Care Certificate during your first three months of joining with a commitment to studying for an NVQ qualification within a year.  Middleton Hall offers various training courses and programmes to be able to increase your knowledge in your role.

This role is for a permanent position working across a seven day period, including weekdays and weekends.  Applicants must be flexible and willing to help the team by working extra shifts if required.  Shifts are from 9.00pm to 7.00am and include weekend working. The night team work a three on/three off system.

MH9B – RGN Part Time / Full Time

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and suitably qualified and experienced RGN to join our existing Nursing Team at Middleton Hall Retirement Village.  Previous experience of working with elderly people would be an advantage, but is not necessary.  We provide CARE FOR THOSE PEOPLE REQUIRING HIGH DEPENDENCY, NURSING AND PALLIATIVE CARE. Our focus is on providing the highest quality of service at all times.  We are looking for someone who has a patient, kind and caring nature, has excellent communication skills and is enthusiastic about our values.

Ideally you will have experience of organising and leading teams as well as being a good team player, and have the ability to delegate effectively.  You will need to be able to make decisions as a nurse in charge as there will be occasions where you will need to respond to emergencies on site where a registered nurse may be required.

What we are looking for

  • Qualified as an RGN – to Part 1 of the Register as a minimum
  • Registered with the NMC with a genuine commitment to adhering to the NMC Codes of Conduct and be willing to develop your skills and knowledge
  • Dispensing and administering medication as prescribed, you will  accurately maintain appropriate records in line with legislative guidelines and will carry out stock control (including ordering prescribed medication and medical products)
  • Taking responsibility for the well-being of our residents, including making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met
  • Carrying out assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans for each of our residents
  • Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to relevant standards, policies and legislation
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor team members and deliver clinical guidance and training to others
  • Computer literate using Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and e-mails
  • The ability to build good working relationships with people inside and outside of the business, including residents and their family members
  • A respectful, courteous and compassionate nature and belief in giving your personal best at all times
  • Promote our residents’ independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the best standards of care and striving for continuous improvement
  • Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as Health and Safety, COSH and the Care Standards Act; as well as possessing sound knowledge in Infection Prevention and Control policies

MH2F – Gardener Permanent Position – 40 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Gardener to join the Estate team in the maintenance and development of our Award winning grounds at Middleton Hall Retirement Village.  We have approximately 20 acres of formal grounds and an additional 60 acres of woodland and tenant farmed fields, consisting of; extensive lawns, grasslands, meadows, woodland walks, herbaceous & wildlife areas, ponds, allotments, glasshouses, a bowling green and a golf course.

The Role will include the planting and maintenance of trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants, ground cover and annual bedding, glasshouse work, animal husbandry, hedge cutting, strimming, pruning and mowing.  You will also assist volunteers and lead or support residents in horticultural based workshops and wildlife activities.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable subject knowledge in this area and previous experience of working in a similar role.  We require someone who possesses good communication skills, is a team player and who is genuinely passionate and enthusiastic about the work they do.  This is a demanding physical role, therefore a good level of fitness is required.  We are also looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude, a proactive approach and who is self-motivated.

A Pesticide PA1/PA6 Certificate would be desirable, along with previous experience of using/operating associated gardening equipment or machinery such as tractors, chainsaws and ride-on and pedestrian mowers.  Any hard landscaping skills such as paving and fencing would also be of benefit.

The position is full time, 40 hours per week with flexibility towards weekend work and overtime.
