Stunning sunsets and wide-eyed wildlife are just some of the subjects residents at Middleton Hall Retirement Village have been capturing to help raise funds for The Alzheimer’s Society.
The Photography Group showed off their work at their annual photography exhibition on Wednesday with a cheese and wine supper for friends, family and staff. The images were displayed in Middleton Hall’s Orangery and Conservatory.
They ranged from beautiful scenes of Italian sunsets to up close and personal shots of some of Middleton Hall’s wildlife – including a wide-eyed owl and a cheeky squirrel peeking behind a feeding tray.
Members of the photography group have been practising their camera skills throughout the year. It has also resulted in some striking shots for a calendar the residents have made to help raise funds for Middleton Hall’s annual chosen charity, The Alzheimer’s Society.
Audra Hunt, Living Well manager who set up the photography group, said: “The residents have been working on their composition this year and you can see with their work that they haven’t just taken shots, they’ve really thought about them beforehand. The images are all personal to each photographer and range from people’s travels to animals that they wanted to capture. We thought putting the images together in a calendar would be a good way for us to share the resident’s work, promote the photography group and raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.”
The calendars, priced £7 are available to buy at the Main Reception or by contacting Middleton Hall Retirement Village on 01325 332207.
