Middleton Hall has donated its finalist winnings from a national prestigious awards ceremony to support The Alzheimer’s Society.

Middleton Hall Retirement Village has donated the £500 cheque to The Alzheimer’s Society, its chosen charity, after recently being announced as one of three finalists in the Best Care Complex Category in the National Pinders Healthcare Design Awards 2015.

Pinders Award 2015Middleton Hall received the cheque from Judges Mark Ellis, Pinders, Andrew Cross, DWA Architects and Dasos Kirtside when they visited Middleton Hall and The Waterside as part of the overall judging process for the awards.

Jeremy Walford, managing director of Middleton Hall Retirement Village, said: “The Pinders awards are one of the biggest events of the year for the care industry so we were delighted to make it to the final and also be able to support The Alzheimer’s Society.”

Jenny Leeming, Dementia Support Worker, said: “I am delighted to accept the cheque for £500 on behalf of The Alzheimer’s Society. It will be used to support the work we do in making a difference to people and their families who live with dementia across the Darlington area.”

The Pinders Healthcare Design Awards have been running for 18 years and aim to promote and recognise the best developments in all types of care-related property. This year’s final results will be announced on the 25th of March at The Lancaster London Hotel. Fingers crossed.
