Care Service Activities

Coming to live at Middleton Court, Middleton Gardens or Middleton Oaks is an opportunity to be more active than before. The extensive facilities and enthusiastic staff enable us to provide, support and encourage people to:

  • try favourite and new activities
  • be sociable, and
  • enhance their mental and physical health

In Each Care Service

Every week, staff in each area take time to consider how best to use their ‘people’ resources to organise activities that their residents will enjoy. This may be on a group or a one to one basis.

We appreciate that every carer and nurse is skilled and experienced in different ways. They have a great deal to contribute in their unique ways and weekly plans are devised to maximise their potential.

For example, a carer instructs in sewing workshops. An enthusiastic baker helps residents to bake bread. A talented golfer spends time with those who have never played the game before but are keen to try it out.

Please see the sample Weekly Planner to give an idea of a typical activities.

Across the Community

Ideas and experiences are formally shared between staff members throughout the village. Some activities and events are organised for all to enjoy together. Examples are Music Hall events, Scarecrow Competitions, pub visits and Wildlife and Gardening Workshops.
